The Kia EV6 electric crossover is now available in India with two trim levels on offer: GT Line RWD and GT Line AWD. EV6, the South Korean automaker’s electric flagship, is making its way to India via CBU, and they have already sold the 100 cars reserved for the Indian market. The firm received an enormous reaction, with 355 pre-orders for the electric vehicle, and would compensate by allocating more units to India.
Kia EV6 Launched in India
Ex-Showroom Price List
- GT Line – Rs 59.95 lakh
- GT Line AWD – Rs 64.95 lakh
The sole difference between the two Kia EV6 models launched in India is the drivetrain. The RWD Kia EV6 gets a single motor that produces 229 HP and a robust 350 NM of torque, while the AWD version gets a dual-motor arrangement that produces 326 bhp and a massive 605 Nm of immediate torque. Both variants use the same 77.4 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 528 km for RWD. Because of the dual-motor system, the AWD version has a much lower range, and Kia claims it can travel up to 425 km on a single charge.
The GT Line RWD costs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India), while the GT Line AWD costs 64.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings for the Kia EV6 began on May 26, 2022, for a nominal amount of 3 lakh. Kia’s electric vehicle expansion will be driven by 15 dealers in 12 locations, with sales of the new Kia EV6 beginning in September 2022.
Kia undercuts all of its chief competitors in pricing at the time of launch, and the closest priced EV is the just-introduced BMW i4. However, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volvo XC40 Recharge, both of which are likely to be priced substantially closer to the Kia EV6, may shortly join the party.
